HOW TO GET TO DARLEY ABBEY VILLAGE HALL

LOCATION

Darley Abbey Village Hall is located in Abbey Yard, (off New Road), Darley Abbey, which is on the east side of the A6 (Duffield Road) near to its intersection with the A38 just north of Derby. There is a car park at the hall.

Click here for a street map showing the location of the venue but NB. the streets in this area of Darley Abbey are narrow and a one-way system operates.  It is therefore important to follow the written instructions below.

From A6 going north – follow Duffield Road (A6) northwards out of Derby  until it crosses over a small traffic island where Broadway joins from the left, then take the next right turn into Mile Ash Lane which runs downhill and eventually becomes Abbey Lane.  At the bottom of the hill, at the picture framing shop, turn right into Old Lane and at the bottom of this, just before the road swings to the left, turn right into Darley Street and follow this round to the right into New Road.  Abbey Yard is about 200 yards along on the left; there is a sign at the entrance to Abbey Yard, pointing to ‘Darley Abbey Village Hall’.

From A6 going south – at the large traffic island on the outskirts of Derby, where the A6 passes over the A38, take the 2nd exit, which is unsigned and more or less goes straight ahead, then take the first turning on the left in to Church Lane at Darley Abbey.  At the bottom of Church Lane turn left into Old Lane and follow the instructions above.

From A38 – leave the A38 at the A6 exit at Allestree on the north side of Derby.  If travelling northbound, take the fourth exit from the large island, and if travelling southbound, take the first exit from the large island as described above for ‘A6 going south’ and follow the instructions.

LEAVING THE HALL - After leaving Abbey Yard turn left into New Road (one-way street) and then on reaching the t-junction turn left.  Continue up the hill to reach the main A6 road, turn left for Derby and A52, or right for Matlock and A38.
